The incident began when Saif Ali Khan’s domestic help raised an alarm upon noticing the intruder, sustaining a minor hand injury during the struggle.

Saif intervened after hearing her cries for help, leading to a confrontation. Investigations revealed that the intruder had not forced entry but likely snuck in unnoticed earlier in the night.

The actor sustained six injuries, including two deep wounds—one near his thoracic spine that required surgery to remove the lodged knife and repair spinal fluid leakage. Additional injuries to his hand and neck were treated by a plastic surgery team. Saif has been moved to the ICU and will be shifted to a regular ward soon.

He sustained six injuries, two are minor, two intermediate and two deep injuries, one of the injuries is on the back which is close to the spine… Saif sustained a major injury to his thoracic spine due to a knife…Surgery was performed to remove the knife and also to repair the leaking spinal fluid,” said the doctors.

The police registered an FIR under sections related to robbery, grievous harm, and housebreaking. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized that despite such incidents, Mumbai remains one of the safest mega cities, adding that efforts will continue to enhance public safety.
