A woman admitted she initially thought there was “no way” she’d try the “sheer dress trend,” but curiosity eventually got the better of her, and she gave it a shot with some bold outfit choices she ordered online.
The trend of see-through dresses seems to make a comeback every year, capturing the attention of fashion lovers everywhere.
But the real question is—are you brave enough to rock this daring style?
From edgy black mesh designs to sparkling gold gowns, the variety available is almost overwhelming.

These dresses can double as a fun beach cover-up or transform into eye-catching clubwear when paired with a bralette and mini skirt.
However, it takes a certain level of confidence and boldness to truly pull off these head-turning pieces.
Instagram personality Danae Mercer Ricci shared with her followers that there was “no way” she’d jump on the bandwagon for this trend at first.
But after trying on a selection of dresses she ordered online, her fans couldn’t help but rave about how “beautiful” she looked.
Danae teased her followers by saying: “Online vs reality sheer dress trend… or how I get blacklisted from fashion brands. My fav is definitely the gold one BUT I don’t know when I’d ever wear it. What do you think?!”
Her first outfit was a fishnet-style dress that left her scratching her head. It didn’t fit the way she hoped, leading her to vow she’d “definitely” return it immediately.
Next up was a crochet flower mini-dress. While it had its charms, Danae described it as “cute but expensive”, hinting that the price tag may not have been entirely justified.
Her next pick was a dazzling gold number, completely see-through and covered in sequins. Danae couldn’t hide her excitement, calling it “gorgeous” and admitting she was “absolutely obsessed with it”.
Still, she acknowledged that it was quite a “daring” choice, as her black underwear was prominently visible, making it a piece only for those comfortable with such a bold look.
Another dress she tried was described as “sweet and flirty”. With its lace bust and floral skirt, it had potential, but she criticized the “horrible quality”, noting loose strings despite it being brand new.
She also modeled a fishnet-style dress adorned with flowers. Though Danae called it “halfway cute”, it was clear her heart remained set on the glittering gold gown.
“You are beautiful”, commented one admirer, while another chimed in with encouragement: “You look so happy in the gold dress, go for it”.
Not all reactions were positive, though. A thoughtful commenter offered some advice, saying: “I think you look (and feel) best in linen. Be aware of the material that is used to make the dresses dear.”
Meanwhile, another critique was more blunt, stating: “Honestly they don’t fit you, maybe the second one suits you better. Few bodies are enhanced by this type of clothes. I am of the opinion that it is better to opt for what we like but also looks good on, but if you feel comfortable and want to wear them, well, do it!”
So, what do you think? Are sheer dresses bold fashion statements or just too daring for everyday wear?
